One of the question I always get Where should I start learning about Microsoft products? I pretty sure community members, MVPs, and moderators get same question and I always answer one of the best starting points I recommend is the Microsoft Community. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into a specific product like Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Fabric, I hope this post helps you find the right space to ask, learn, contribute, and grow.

🌟 Why I Chose to Get Involved
I’ve always believed that the best way to learn is by doing—and the second-best way is by learning from others who’ve done it. That’s what the Microsoft Communities offer: an incredible pool of shared experience. When I started working on Business Central, I stumbled upon the Dynamics 365 Community and instantly saw the value in real-world Q&A, product feedback, and being part of a supportive ecosystem.
Since then, I’ve expanded into Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, and now AI agent design with Agent Creator. Each of these has its own community space—and each has helped me level up in different ways.
🧭 My Favorite Communities (and How I Use Them)
1. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community
This is my go-to for anything related to:
- Business Central (AL coding, financials, posting groups)
- Finance & Operations (X++, Workflows, dual-write)
- Customer Engagement (Dataverse sync, customizations)
I’ve asked and answered questions about vendor workflows, intercompany, Power BI integration, and more. What I love here: real-world edge case discussions and how fast experts reply!
2. Microsoft Power Platform Community
As I started building low-code tools to complement Dynamics, I leaned heavily into:
- Power Automate (flows for approvals, data push/pull)
- Power Apps (Canvas + Model-driven)
- Power Pages and governance best practices
There are great resources here on ALM, solution layers, and connecting to Business Central.
3. Microsoft Agent Creator Community
My latest adventure and Microsoft created lastest community is Microsoft Agent Creator which not just help get answer but also learn how you can include agentic use case in your day to day working ! I’ve started designing AI agents that connect to:
- SharePoint/Dataverse
- Azure AI Search
- Custom backend APIs
I share learnings here about grounding, connectors, prompt flows, and real-time orchestration.
4. Microsoft Fabric Community
Fabric is a game-changer for unified analytics. I use this space to:
- Optimize semantic models
- Post about Direct Lake performance issues
- Learn best practices for Delta Lake + Real-Time Intelligence
Great for cross-pollination with Power BI and data engineering teams.
5. Microsoft Tech Community
This is where I blog long-form content about:
- Enterprise architecture
- Migration strategies
- AI + data integration stories
I also follow product group blogs (like Dynamics, Power BI, Security) to stay updated.
🎓 How I Learn (and Help Others)
ne thing that makes these communities so vibrant is the amazing group of community members, MVPs, and moderators who give their time to answer questions, share knowledge, and welcome newcomers. Their consistent effort is what helps the community thrive—and I try to follow their lead by giving back whenever I can.
- I try to answer at least 1 question per week in the Dynamics 365 or Power Platform community.
- I mark solutions, add follow-ups, and provide feedback to keep discussions helpful.
- I write educational how-to posts on the Tech Community and cross-link them to Q&A.
- I create and share code snippets, workflow diagrams, and custom connectors to give back.
✨ My Advice to New Members
- Start small: ask one question or post one answer.
- Always include your product version, build, region, and what you tried.
- Follow threads even after they’re solved—you’ll always learn something new.
- When your question gets answered, mark it solved to help others.
